Google Earth

Free

Google Earth is not a live satellite feed — its imagery is periodically updated historical and aerial photography, not real-time video. For OSINT work it still offers a global historical-imagery timeline, 3D terrain views, distance and area measurement tools, and KML/KMZ support for mapping and geolocation research.

Google's Earth versions page lists Google Earth on web, Google Earth on mobile and Google Earth Pro on desktop. It describes viewing high-resolution satellite imagery, exploring 3D terrain and buildings in hundreds of cities, and Street View's 360° perspectives. It says Google Earth Pro on desktop is for users with advanced feature needs, can import and export GIS data and go back in time with historical imagery, and is available on PC, Mac, or Linux. The page also says Earth Pro will no longer be available for download beginning June 25, 2027.
