Google's visual search to identify objects, places and text in images.
Google's Lens page says: "Use your camera, an image, or a screenshot to search." It describes using the camera to "translate menus, signs, handwriting, or anything else in over 100 languages", or to copy text to a phone or computer, and using Lens "to learn more about artwork, murals, and landmarks". It adds that "With Google Lens in Chrome desktop, easily select, search and ask questions about anything you see on the web".
Dual-use tool. This tool can be used for research and investigation, and also to find, track or identify people without their consent. Listing it here is not an endorsement of either use.
Privacy note. Your public photos can be matched to identify people, places or objects in them.
