Username & Social Media Tracking

Sherlock

Open sourceDual-use

Hunts a username across hundreds of sites.

Sherlock is an open-source command-line tool that searches for a specific username across hundreds of websites. It helps researchers and individuals verify the presence of an account on various platforms to understand their digital footprint. This utility is commonly used for OSINT investigations to map social media identities and track online presence.

Dual-use tool. This is capable of legitimate research (journalism, security, due diligence) and of harassment or stalking. Listing it here is not an endorsement of either use.
Privacy note. Demonstrates how far a single reused username can be traced — a practical case for per-platform aliases.
