Data broker opt-out directory

These sites compile public records, purchased data and scraped profiles into searchable listings of your name, address, phone number, age, and relatives — and sell access to it, to anyone. Opting out of one does not opt you out of the rest: work through the list.

Do this periodically, not once. Many of these brokers re-scrape source data and re-list removed profiles months later, so an opt-out is a recurring chore, not a one-time fix. There are paid removal services that automate re-submission across brokers on your behalf — that can be worth it if you don't want to repeat this manually, but it is a tradeoff (ongoing cost, and you are trusting another company with your details to remove your details from other companies) rather than something categorically better than doing it yourself for free. We don't endorse a specific one here.
